Wanaque Public Library, a small customer-service oriented library serving a population of 11,500, has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and team-oriented Youth Services Library Assistant to work part-time in our children’s department for 25 hours per week.
Under the guidance of our full-time Children’s Library Assistant, you will help plan, promote and perform story times, special programs and other activities to ensure that our Children’s Room continues to thrive and meet the needs of our community. This job also requires you

The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and families, have great customer service skills and be friendly and approachable with all library patrons and other staff members. Our ideal candidate is also reliable and punctual, has good organizational skills, has basic computer skills, and isn’t afraid to try new things. We are looking for someone who is team-oriented and also self-motivated enough to work independently, with minimal supervision, when given projects to complete. A background working with children and/or families is a plus.
